Bookmarklet for Chrome and Safari www

created on Sept. 26, 2009

State of the art browsers are something that we’re really excited about and we can understand why most active bloggers are switching to them as soon as they arrive – they’re fast, reliable and offer interesting candy. Too bad that Chrome and Safari don’t support browser extensions yet. As usual in computing, there’s a workaround for this.

Today we’re presenting you something from our Labs – Zemanta Bookmarklet for Chrome and Safari (it also works in Firefox and IE!). The way it works is that you generate a special link, Bookmarklet, that you drag and drop to your Bookmarks bar. Then every time you want to activate Zemanta, you just press it and it’s going to appear if we support that editor. For now we support everything that would work with our Firefox or Internet Explorer extensions. If you’re already registered user of Zemanta, you’ll just have to login once into the preferences and your settings will be synchronized across your Zemanta plugins and extensions.
